ATHLETIC EVENT RESULTS AND NEWS

2007-2008

THIS WEEKS ATHLETIC EVENTS

Cross Country: Jaguars! Congratulations to Emily Love who finished 10th in the region and will run in the State Meet at Tanglewood on Saturday at 3:30!  And to all of our runners, congratulations on an excellent performance at the Mid-East Regional Meet yesterday.  For the men and women, beating Apex and finishing close to Cary was a major accomplishment, (Men were 7th overall, defeating 14 other teams, and Women were 5th (16 points away from 4th) overall, defeating 12 other teams and 5 of 7 girls achieved PRs.  All seven will return next year and with a rejuvenated Molly Fike we should be truly awesome again in '08.  Although we will miss Joe and Randy (and several other men) next year, five of our top seven men return and with a stacked JV team, we should remain competitive in the region and the state in '08.  In the most recently posted coaches poll (10/23), both men and women received votes as top ten teams in the state and our performance at regionals emphasizes the fact that those votes were well-deserved.  Results can be found at NCPrepTrack.com.  Walk tall, Jaguars, we are proud of you!  Now claw-mark your social calendars for November 3rd at Tanglewood and see Em shred SOME OF (the rest, as you know, are on her team) the best female runners in NC!
