- Career Fairs:
- Health Occupations Fair, January 16th. Alliance member Kelly
Constantinetis has arranged for WakeMed to be a sponsor. Distributed
information sheet with activities.
- Computer Career Fair, February 20th. Francis Shepherd and Witold
Sieradzan are participating. If you are interested in participating,
contact Francis.
- NC Tech Prep Spring Conference, March 16 - 17. Seeking ideas for
proposal to participate in conference. Conference focuses on what
students need to take to prepare for college or tech schools. If interested
in participating in proposal, contact Jane.
- Xtreme Beginnings program will be held at Southeast Raleigh High
School on 3/12.
- Groundhog Shadow Day. Provided list of career opportunities needed.
Contact Jane with contacts. Prefer students to be schedule after school
hours or on weekends.
Futures For Kids Presentation - Susan Milliken
Susan presented demo on web program. The focus of the site is to bridge
the gap between the hopes and dreams of the students with the needs
of the marketplace. Site includes actual job listings from area companies,
which allows students to learn about different careers. This is an outstanding
resource for students.
Futures for Kids will be working with the area High Schools to schedule
programs to expose the students to the site.
