Welcome and Introductions – Wayne Tindle
Tim Swinson, VP/City Officer with the State Employees’ Credit Union, joins us as a guest and a prospective BA member. Tim has conducted various financial topic workshops to assist students in becoming better prepared for the real world.

Review of Action Register – Wayne Tindle
Several “Action” items from last year were cleaned up. We closed or completed multiple items.

CDC Report – Jane Dodge

  • BA members Wayne Tindle and Mike Cranford, Sen. Vernon Malone, Rep. Jennifer Weiss, Rep. Bernard Allen, School Board Member Eleanor Goettee, and CTE Director, David Rockefeller attended the ADHS Elected Officials Visitation Day.
  • Planning for Xtreme Beginnings countywide career fair has begun and will be held April 21st. Contact Jane if you are interested in talking about a career. More four-year colleges and universities will be represented this year as the goal is to encourage students to pursue higher education in some capacity (community college, four-year college, or trade school) so they will have a skill and a path to a better future.
  • Wayne Tindle spoke with students interested in recording production.
  • Amy Walker had several students shadow for marketing manager careers.
  • ADHS has over 860 students registered on Futures for Kids.

Agenda Items – Wayne Tindle

  • If you have agenda items for BA meetings, please forward to Wayne for the Steering Committee meeting which is the Friday before the BA monthly meeting.

Students – Syeda Amina and Bradley Valentine

  • Bradley said there was positive feedback from students about the Creative Arts Career Fair.
  • Syeda thought that the Business Alliance could help with awareness or opportunities for student internships.

  • Members answered survey questions, Wayne will review and report results to the team.
