  • Creativity Counts Career Fair will be held Nov 8th.  Each BA member is encouraged to have an exhibit.
  • Thanks to Atrin for doing the commercial for the Career Fair during the lunch announcements and to Dan Laffey for filming it.
  • Tim Swinson spoke to 5 classes in October,
  • Charlie Nobles met with student to advise on applying to Duke.
  • Teacher interested in speaker to teach class how to use PowerPoint and to speak about the importance of character.
  • 2 new Alliance Members: 
    • Sam Wells, Machining Instructor with Wake Tech
    • Drew Baird, Senior at NCSU, pilot, & Apex EMS

Student Report:  Bradley, Atrin and Emma

  • Students came up with commercial for Career Fair
  • Technology survey is almost complete, waiting on approval from Central Office and will be distributed in homerooms.

Team Strategic Plan Review:

  • Teams reviewed strategic plans and focused on their priority areas.

Important Dates and Business Alliance Participation: 

  • Athens Drive Faculty Meeting – Monday, November 13th @ 2:30 pm
  • Creativity Counts Career Fair – Wednesday, November 8th @ 10:30 am

New Business: 

  • Looking at potential of having a PTSA member attend BA meetings

Update on the Wake County School Business Alliances: 

  • Jerry O’Connor, BELC Co-chair, reviewed the organizational structure of the School-to-Career Council Leadership Team, 2005-2006 Successes, the Business Alliance Region structure and Business Alliance Initiative.
  • Jerry pointed out that our Alliance should take advantage of the other Wake County Business Alliances and contact his office if we have a request and can’t find a resource.

Next Alliance meeting will be held Friday, December 1st, WakeMed Cary Hospital
